Volunteer
Help us Celebrate our 40th Anniversary by Volunteering!
"There are no small jobs at Theatricum. We welcome thousands of audience
members and students each year and every volunteer is important. If you
smile while taking a ticket, or help someone to their seat, or repair the
hem of a costume, you are shaping a memorable experience that helps ensure
that people come back. That is really important to what we do." ~ Ellen
Geer, Artistic Director
This 40th Anniversary presents unique opportunities to support and celebrate
our rich history and our exciting future. Help us celebrate this milestone
by joining our volunteer team!

The following are just some of the other ways that volunteers can contribute
in a meaningful way this season:
Special Events - Our Open House on May 4th from 11am-5pm is just of our
special events designed to highlight our work at Theatricum and reach out to
the community. Other events include opening night receptions, the third
annual Theatricum Boo-tanicum (Halloween festival), our Year End Gala and
more.
Seamstress - If you like to sew, bring your needle and thread to
Theatricum's costume shop! Share your talents and work alongside skilled
professionals.
Front of House Assistance - If you enjoy talking to people from all walks of
life, take tickets, rent cushions, greet audience members, hand out
programs, arrange seating in the gardens and commons area, stay after and
help clean up too! These are opportunities for the Main Stage Season and
Family Fundays (Sundays). Training provided.
Concessions - The Hamlet Hut is a friendly stop for theatre-goers in search
of snacks, beverages and merchandise. If you like lively interaction and can
handle quick cash sales, we need you. Training provided.
"Dinner and a Show" Hosts and Servers - Theatricum hosts lovely garden
dinners for 60 guests prior to selected performances in July, August and
September. We seek someone who likes working with the public and can help
set up and oversee this small but splendid operation. We also seek
individuals to serve from the banquet table. Training provided.
Town Criers - If you have a few minutes to take a small stack of brochures
or postcards to area businesses or to your own doctor, accountant, bank,
recreation center, let us know. We have several businesses on our lists that
take our print materials; it is just a matter of getting them there. If it's
on your way, it makes our day.
Garden Tenders - We are always in need of help with weeding and tending the
gardens and especially need people to water once a week during the hot
summer months. We rotate among several people so it doesn't take a full
summer commitment.
Skilled Work - Carpentry, painting and artistic skills come in handy at
Theatricum, where there's alway a fix-it project in the works.
Administrative - From time to time we need help with mailings, filing, data
entry, Internet postings and a variety of office-type work.
It takes a village to keep a theatre going! To join our community team of
volunteers, visit online at
www.theatricum.com or contact our Volunteer Coordinator at
samara@theatricum.com, or call
(310) 455-2322.
Please note that young people and families are encouraged to come volunteer.
If you have Communtiy Service hours that need to be met for graduation
though your high school or university, we can help you fulfill those hours.
If your company or community group offers a volunteer program, please let
us know and we'll reach out to them. Thanks for your time and support!
