Component Strands 1 & 4:
Artistic Perception & Aesthetic Valuing Our School Days Field Trip
(link to page 2) and In-School Assemblies (link to page 5) provide input
with which educators generate student responses.
Component Strand
2: Creative Expression Students Act the Classics, Playwriting &
Performing Workshop and all our In-Class Enrichment (link to page 3)
programs address this strand.
Component Strand 3: Historical &
Cultural Context Our School Days Field Trip (link to page 2), Living
History Presentation and Elizabethan Life Technique Workshops address
this strand directly. Many of our programs, however, can be used as part
of an overall unit addressing the art of the Elizabethan Era.
“We created the Americana Series to inform and
inspire students to take pride in their extraordinary history. To learn
about the strength, struggles, victories and dedication of their
forefathers and foremothers and to attain their equal place in American
society. The students’ rendition of Viva LaRaza!... their choice of
material from their great past… was an incredible thing to watch. Some
had never been on stage before. Their team spirit, material selections
and their own words bridging the work was very moving. We at Theatricum
hope to do more of this work, because it works! To see light and pride
in teenagers today is an accomplishment in education!” --Ellen Geer,
Artistic Director
