Teaching Internship

A limited number of Teaching Intern positions are available each summer in our
Youth Drama Camp and Young People’s Camp. Intern teachers work with children (ages 4-14) in our 5-week summer Shakespeare camps. They must be available to participate in a total of 8 ½ hours Professional Development Training and be available to work the entire camp and performance days. Intern Teachers assist the directors, technique teachers and Group Leaders, gaining hands-on teaching experience and developing leadership skills.

The Teaching Internship program is a successful program that has allowed us to train many teachers over the years. Every year, we are proud to hire former Teaching Interns back in Group Leader and Technique Teacher positions. The Teaching Internship ensures that we have teachers trained from within the company, who know our programs and the specific techniques we use to excite young people to Shakespeare.

The Teaching Internship is an unpaid position, although second year returning interns may be eligible to receive a small stipend.

To be eligible, you must be at least a graduating senior in high school. Preference is given to college students, and to former students in our Youth Drama Camp. If you are interested, please send a letter of interest and resume of your teaching experience to the attention of Susan Angelo, Education Direct
or.
